Fifth grade students at Washington Elementary School in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin recorded "The Star-Spangled Banner" which was played by a local radio station at 9 a.m. on Sept. 14. With the broadcast, other elementary schools joined the singing, while the Washington Elementary students sang around an American flag which had flown over Ft. McHenry. Teacher Judy Heffron purchased this special 15 star and 15 stripe flag while on vacation.
