All students of Arnold Elementary School, led by Susan Peay, sang the national anthem at 9:00 a.m. eastern time. Every class sent a representative to the music room to sing as a group over the intercom. Parents and special guests from the community were invited to join us.

On Thursday Sept. 14, the entire student body gathered at the flag pole at 8:00 am Central Standard Time to be led in a presentation by students of Oak Hill School commemorating the writing of the national anthem.

Students of Rockvale Elementary School celebrated the National Anthem on September 14 with an assembly that included a narrative history of the flag (a slide show showing the progress of our flag was shown), and a skit about Francis Scott Key's ordeal that night. The music teacher, Brenda Williams, and chorus led the group in singing the first and last verses of our national anthem. We also made a huge flag in the bleachers. In addition to the recognition of our National Anthem, we also included a brief September 11 memorial, including honoring a former student who was recently killed in Iraq.

Students of Tulip Grove Elementary School celebrated Red, White and Blue Day and went out to the front to say the pledge and sing "The Star Spangled Banner" around the flagpole. Music teacher is Margi Jared.

Students at University School at Jackson wore uniforms - the shirts are red, white or navy blue.  We arranged the students to represent the American flag on the football field for the project.  Teachers wore white shirts and held stars.  We had about 1340 students in grades Pre-K - 12 and about 75 faculty/staff members on the field.
