I have a niece who will be 4 yrs old in April & it's sad to think that when she starts school in another year or two that she probably won't be taught the national anthem if something isn't done about it.
I am in the process of teaching my 4th, 5th, and 6th graders all three verses of the Service version of the National Anthem. We are also singing it without all of the fermatas so that they will learn the meaning of the words they are singing rather than knowing it only as the song sung at sporting events or after the Pledge Of Allegiance.
